Here’s another amazing, but overlooked, piece of magical realism.
Despite the amplified voices of the world’s people — through travel, by radio, television, film and now the internet — nobody seems to appreciate that the human race has become more, not less, tolerant of people with whom we are unfamiliar. With all these alien cultures and ideas invading each others’ space, it appears that some as yet unexplored and unknown qualia has overcome our natural repugnance for outsiders.
Again, this phenomenon is far more miraculous than the technology which has brought it to our attention.
